This refuge is located west of La Ceiba, Honduras just 45 min. By car and 30 min. then by train. We recommend this tour to travelers who want to easily explore this coastal protected area that is home to more than 35 species of mammals and 198 species of birds. You can easily see groups of olingo monkeys, white-faced monkeys, osprey, kingfishers, herons, storks, parrots, toucans and crocodiles and with luck we can see manatees, anteaters, and other animals. This area has many canals and lagoons surrounded by mangroves, some of which we will visit on our tour.
This is a trip for all ages with little physical activity.
